A member of the company's Corporate Executive Team, Ms. Connolly brings a wealth of experience to GSK. Before joining the team in February of this year, she worked her way up the corporate ladder with ever-increasing responsibilities with Eli Lilly and Company.  A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, she serves on the Board of Directors of Macy's, Inc.

Prior to his promotion to president of the company's largest affiliate in January, Mr. Conterno served as senior vice president of health care professional markets, and represented Lilly in a variety of overseas markets. Today he serves on the Operations Committee and the Senior Management Council. Born in Lima, Peru, he joined Lilly in 1992, after earning his MBA from Duke University.

An experienced leader in healthcare, focused on quality of life, Mr. Delgado is responsible for every aspect of the extensive network of health service programs. They include the Medical Center, the tertiary care hub of the county's Department of Health Services, as well as the primary teaching facility of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

His career in innovative healthcare solutions dates back to 1976, when Mr. Fernandez developed health insurance programs for the employer groups and the elderly.  He has applied his entrepreneurial expertise, buying and selling a number of companies, and today his private equity firm has committed capital in excess of $500 million, and is focused on investing in healthcare service companies nationwide.

Last December, Ms. Gomez was elected chair of the board of the independent, private foundation founded in 1992 to improve the health of the people of California. The organization provides grants to promote health, wellness, education and disease prevention. An independent consultant, Ms. Gomez served as a commissioner for the state's Commission on Juvenile Justice, Crime and Delinquency Prevention.

In 1995, Ms. Rodriguez joined Health Plus, one of New York's largest providers of government-sponsored health insurance. She worked her way up Ð from stay-at-home mom of three young children Ð to a highly respected executive in the industry, particularly for her recognition of the value of strong partnerships between stakeholders with diverse needs.  She is an active member of several community organizations, including the Brooklyn Arts Council.

With the responsibility of two of New York's major hospitals, a workforce of 7,000 and a budget of $800 million, Mr. Sanchez is an example of excellence in action Ð even in these trying times. Among his proudest accomplishments is receiving the 1996 Distinguished Award from Adelphi University, his alma mater. Mr. Sanchez recently received an Honorary Doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

As the first-ever Surgeon General of Florida, Dr. Viamonte Ros has been named by Gov. Charlie Crist to lead the Sunshine State's efforts to promote wellness and disease prevention. She oversees the state's Department of Health, one of the nation's most complex, and comprehensive,  delivery systems of public health care.  Growing up in a family that fled Cuba in 1960, she has a unique understanding of quality-of-life issues.

In 2005, Dr. Torres founded the coalition group that advocates for a national single-payer health insurance program that would provide care for every individual from birth, regardless of immigration status. He also serves as Associate Director of Consultative Services at Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital in New York.  He frequently lectures and writes on issues related to racism and the ethics of the healthcare system.
