Microsoft to Work with Facebook, Twitter

October 22, 2009
Microsoft

U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp. said it had formed partnerships with two social networking Web sites, Twitter and Facebook.

The deal with Tweeter gives users the ability to search Twitter's real-time information feed directly in Microsoft's search engine Bing, said Qi Lu, president of Microsoft's Online Services Division.

The feature provides analysis of conversations on Twitter, Lu said, BusinessWeek reported Wednesday.

The deal with Facebook discussed at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco "will bring public Facebook status updates to Bing search results," BusinessWeek said.
