2002 Board of Economists U.S. Hispanic Economic Summit

The successful completion of the 2002 Board of Economists U.S. Hispanic Economic Summit marked the fifth year that Hispanic Business Magazine has brought together high-profile corporate executives, government officials, academia, and Hispanic leaders and luminaries to focus on the economic trends and issues facing the growing U.S. Hispanic market. After a welcome and introduction from Hispanic Business, Inc. CEO Jesús Chavarría, attendees were invited to participate in presentations and forum discussions given by the Hispanic Business Board of Economists.

Study: Minorities More Likely Than Whites to Start Businesses

Some 10 million American adults are involved in the process of starting nearly six million potential new businesses at any one time. However, African-Americans are 50 percent more likely to start a business than whites, according to a new report that answers who is involved in start-up ventures in the United States. The 120-scholar report identifies predictors of entrepreneurship in context of ethnic differences.

The Bravo Group Promotes Linda De Jesús to President
Daisy Expósito-Ulla, Chairman & CEO, The Bravo Group, announced yesterday the promotion of Linda De Jesús, 39, from SVP, Managing Partner to President, effective immediately. The Bravo Group creates Spanish-language integrated marketing communications programs, which are designed to establish strong product positions in the Hispanic consumer segment. Established in 1980, the Bravo Group had billings of over $260 million in 2001.
