(Gain) on acquisition of business
The gain on acquisition represents the gain recorded on the acquisition of AMC Ventures Inc. The gain was revised in the fourth quarter of 2012 based on the finalization of AMC Ventures Inc.'s final tax return.

Other costs
Other costs include three main sub-categories of expenses, including theatre occupancy expenses, which capture the rent and associated occupancy costs for Cineplex's various operations; other operating expenses, which include the costs related to running Cineplex's theatres and ancillary businesses; and general and administrative expenses, which includes costs related to managing Cineplex's operations, including the head office expenses.
