Wilocity and Qualcomm-Atheros furthered their technology partnership by launching the industry's first tri-band reference design that combines Qualcomm VIVE 802.11ac Wi-Fi and 802.11ad WiGig wireless capabilities onto one module. Tri-band Wi-Fi allows consumers to connect to 60 GHz enabled devices, docks, displays and storage at multi-gigabit speeds, while maintaining enterprise-wide or whole home coverage with 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi.
The Wilocity and Marvell partnership announced in 2012 is aimed at bringing to market new tri-band solutions that integrate Wilocity's 60 GHz technology and existing Wi-Fi to achieve exciting new applications like wireless docking, high-speed synch and low latency wireless connections to displays tri-band Access Points and other networking devices, Network and Direct Attached Storage, and Docking. The partnership will deliver highly mobile, thin and light platforms that do not sacrifice performance or functionality, utilizing the first WiGig wireless bus extension (WBE). Marvell chose Wilocity in order to accelerate Marvell's deployment of WiGig-compliant wireless platforms for computing, networking infrastructure and consumer electronics.
Wilocity won awards from the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) and The International CES Innovations competition. Wilocity won GSA's Private Company to Watch Award, and its technology was also recognized as an Honoree in two categories from the International CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards. Wilocity's technology was awarded in both the Embedded Technologies category with the Dell WiGig-enabled multi-gigabit wireless Notebook and Dock bundle and the Home Networking category with the AzureWave Gigabit Wireless Tri-Band Router.
Wilocity will be hosting individual live press demonstrations and briefings at the Las Vegas Hotel Suite #20-121 on January 8-11. Contact Stephanie Evans at 650-433-4163 or email@example.com to schedule an appointment.
