Digital First Media Wins 9 EPPY Awards

Digital First Media's automotive portal FYIDriving was also named Best Automotive Website (with less than 1 million monthly unique visitors) by EPPY judges.

•Best News or Event Feature (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for coverage of the Aurora movie theater shooting. •Best Use of Social Media for News Service (1 million unique monthly visitors and over). •Two finalist nominations for Best News Video (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for the Waldo Canyon Fire and Heroes of Aurora Theater Shooting. •Best Use of Photography on a Website (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for The Denver Post's Media Center. •Best Entertainment Website (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for Unsinkable, Unimaginable, Unforgettable: The Titanic 100 Years Later. •Best News/Political Blog (under 1 million unique monthly visitors) for The Spot, Denver's politics and policy blog.

The San Jose Mercury News:

•Best Daily Newspaper Website (1 million unique monthly visitors and over). •Best News or Event Feature (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for The Cost of Dying which examined the cost of medical care and other end-of-life issues impacting families in the Bay Area. •Best Enterprise/Investigative Video (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for the Cost of Dying video shot by photojournalist Dai Sugano that accompanied reporter Lisa Krieger's report. •Best News Video (1 million unique monthly visitors and over) for video by Mr. Sugano entitled Lost Voices of September 11 that was part of the newsroom's coverage of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and focused on Flight 93 hero Mark Bingham's mother who was able to retrieve 44 messages left on his cell phone the day of the attack. •Best Business Blog (under 1 million unique monthly visitors) for Levi Sumagaysay's Good Morning Silicon Valley blog.
