Microsoft
Ms. Diaz joined Microsoft in February 2009, with more than 13 years of experience in diversity and inclusion. She is responsible for identifying and leveraging synergies across diverse groups. She has a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. She is a board member and chairwoman of research at Madrinas (National Latina Executives nonprofit organization), and a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Executives Council at The Conference Board.

Ana Duarte McCarthy
Managing director and chief diversity officer
Citi
Ms. Duarte McCarthy assumed her diversity role in 2002, responsible for the development and integration of Citi's workforce diversity strategy for attracting diverse talent. Since she joined Citi in 1995, her roles have been within global diversity, including five years as vice president, diversity management. Ms. Duarte McCarthy was selected as one of HispanicBusiness magazine's Elite Women in 2009 and in 2007.

Emilio G. Egea
Vice president, human resources, and chief diversity officer
Prudential Financial
Mr. Egea is a nationally recognized expert and leader in the field of diversity. He is responsible for the development of strategies, tools and interventions. Mr. Egea has worked for New Jersey Bell and AT&T. He joined Prudential in 1998. He has degrees in business and economics and in Spanish from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. He is currently vice chairman of the board of the American Conference on Diversity.

Mike L. Escobar
Vice president, chief diversity and organization effectiveness officer, human resources
Allstate
Mr. Escobar is responsible for leading diversity and organization effectiveness. Previously, he led Allstate's Technology & Operations organization. He also serves as executive sponsor for Allstate's recruiting efforts at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. Within Allstate, he serves as an executive sponsor of the employee and business resource groups. He chairs Allstate's Diversity Leadership Council and the Grant Committee of the Allstate Foundation.

Grace Figueredo
Vice president of diversity and inclusion
The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
Ms. Figueredo is accountable for developing strategies that drive employee engagement and extend contemporary work practices to meet the needs of the business and employees. She joined The Hartford from United Technologies Corp., where she served as director of workforce diversity. She has a master's degree from the University of Hartford and a bachelor's degree in Spanish and secondary education from Queens College of the City University of New York.

Alma L. Guajardo-Crossley
Director, diversity initiatives
General Motors
Ms. Guajardo-Crossley's primary responsibility is to position GM as the company of choice for its products and services among diverse communities. She works to establish relationships with key advocacy groups and consults across various GM functions. She joined GM in 1985 as a General Motors Engineering & Management Institute (GMI) co-op student. She earned her undergraduate degree from GMI in 1990, and her MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1997.

Lisa Gutierrez
Executive director of global diversity
Cummins
Ms. Gutierrez believes her background in sales has shaped her approach to creating and maintaining a diverse workplace at Cummins. She joined Cummins in 2007. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, she began her career in sales at Procter & Gamble. She eventually became director of diversity at the University of California at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
