The University of Miami School of Law has a thriving Hispanic Law Students Association, and Hispanic students hold key positions in student government, law reviews, and other organizations. Extensive mentoring programs help students meet the demands of an innovative curriculum taught by a renowned faculty. Training through in-house clinics, externships, and pro bono programs immerse students in the program, which has a strong international flavor. Students also have the opportunity to learn comparative law in Spanish and study abroad in Spain. "Law firms regard UM as the best school in the country to recruit Hispanic graduates," says Dean Dennis Lynch. Graduates have opportunities nationally and internationally in law firms, government, corporations, and public-interest organizations. "UM is a great place not only to learn, but to learn from others from different cultures," says Monica Segura, president of the Student Bar Association.
