President, Enterprise Solutions
Eduardo R. MenascÚ is president of the enterprise solutions group for Verizon Communications, the national communications company formed by the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE. His responsibilities include oversight of all sales, marketing and service delivery for Verizon's largest business and government customers. Before the merger, Mr. MenascÚ held several significant international positions at GTE, living in Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and France. From 1996 until the merger, Mr. MenascÚ was president and CEO of CTI MOVIL S.A. - Argentina. CTI serves more than 1 million wireless telephone customers throughout Argentina. Prior to that, Mr. MenascÚ was the chief financial officer for CANTV in Venezuela and later became the company's chief operating officer. CANTV is the sole provider of comprehensive communications products and services in Venezuela, supplying 3 million customers with wireline, wireless, Internet, satellite-based, data-transmission, and information services. Mr. MenascÚ began work with GTE Corporation in 1974 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as chief financial officer for GTE Brazil in the lighting and consumer electronics division. In 1979, he was named general manager for GTE Brazil's lighting division. In 1981, he was appointed president of GTE France's lighting division. Before joining GTE, Mr. MenascÚ worked with Wagner Lockheed Brazil as an industrial engineer, with Cresap, McCormick and Paget, USA and Brazil, as a management consultant, and with Alcatel Telecommunicaciones Brazil as chief operating officer. Mr. MenascÚ currently serves on the board of directors of Pitney Bowes Inc., a global provider of integrated mail and document management solutions.
Vice-President, Corporate Governance
Mr. Mosse is the vice-president of corporate governance for Prudential Financial. Previously, he was the internal control manager for Prudential Securities and served in several senior positions in operations and systems at Prudential Insurance. Prior to joining Prudential in 1996, Mosse spent 19 years with Chase Manhattan Bank, where he headed the product and production risk management unit of the global corporate finance sector, was the regional audit manager for South America, and occupied other senior positions in the general auditing department. Mosse earned a degree in Economic Science from Faculdade Candido Mendes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Senior Vice-President, Chief Staff Officer, and Chief Ethics Officer
Hector J. Motroni is senior vice-president and chief staff officer at Xerox Corporation. He was named to this position and became a corporate senior vice-president in January 1999. He also is chief ethics officer.
Mr. Motroni is responsible for human resources, government affairs, ethics and compliance, risk management, facilities, real estate, and general services. He joined Xerox in 1971 as an engineer before moving to the Xerox Latin American Group in 1973, where he held field and headquarters management positions. In 1991 he became a group vice-president, responsible for quality, customer satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness. Prior to his present appointment, he was the corporation's vice-president of human resources and quality. Mr. Motroni earned a BA in 1966, a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1967, and a master's degree in engineering in 1968, all from Dartmouth College. He is on the boards of Outward Bound Inc., Wharton School's Center for Advanced Studies in Management, National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering Inc., Prep for Prep, and the National Policy Association.
