NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fla., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- After only one year on the air, GolTV has scored big in the sports channel arena signing deals with 5 national cable operators and satellite providers with nationwide coverage (DISH Network, Comcast, Adelphia, Cablevision and the National Cable Television Cooperative) across the country and expanding its reach and coverage capabilities. This, and its top-rate quality programming, has drawn in 5.1 million viewers. What's more, that number is expected to grow to 8 million by the end of 2004.
Still, this cable network has more than one reason to celebrate. The company's fast-paced success and growing subscriber base has caught the eye of some important national advertisers, another essential key to their continued success. Yet, although GolTV definitely scored an initial GOAL in its first year, it now looks to the future by introducing a new stellar lineup of programs.
"We feel that this is just the beginning. GOLTV is now ready to take things to the next level with some fantastic new shows. This is sure to excite our existing viewers as well as bring new ones to the fold," said Enzo Francescoli, Vice President and Executive Director of GolTV. "What is more, as this sport continues to grow in popularity, we expect to go on adding quality shows that will allow our viewers to follow their favorite leagues, hear from the world's top players, and catch soccer's greatest moments both past and present".
The programming lineup includes:

Entitled "The Beautiful Century" the show includes first broadcast unedited footage and interviews with some of the world's most famous and respected soccer players such as: Pele, Mexico's Hugo Sanchez, and Zidane Bechhman among others. In addition, the show will afford viewers a chance to relive some of the most thrilling matches and moments in soccer history.
Euro Fever: Is a really exhilarating prelude to Euro 2004 (Eurocup) in Portugal. It brings the excitement of the qualifying matches into viewers' living rooms. Lineker has been the only Englishman to achieve the distinction of highest goal scorer with his six goals in Mexico in 1986. He also served as a BBC anchor during some of the most prominent world tournaments.
Magia Blanca: Brings the viewer face to face with what is arguably known as the best football club in the world, "Real Madrid". Viewers will get to experience real-life action from some of the league's top players like Roberto Carlos, Borja Fernandez, Zinedin Zidane, and Santiago Solari.
American Soccer: There is no doubt that soccer is rapidly becoming a mass audience sport in the U.S. and its followers deserve a chance to be in the know. Recognizing this, GolTV is preparing to launch two programs about the US national team and its preparation for the qualifying matches that could take them to the World Cup in Germany in 2006.
