Hispanic Business 500 Preview --> For the first time in the 22-year history of Hispanic Business' listing of the top Hispanic-owned firms in the United States, three companies have reached the billion-dollar mark. The Related Group of Florida joins The Burt Automotive Network and Brightstar Corporation in the billion-dollar club with 2003 revenue of $1.08 billion. And there are several other companies that are not far behind – who will be the next member of the club?
Compared to 2002, total revenues for the HB500 were up around 9 percent in 2003, to over $25 billion. In 2002, HB500 revenue fell 1.7 percent, making the growth in 2003 even more impressive. The increase was led by several industries, including finance, automotive, and retail. Among the companies making their debut on the list this year: Palladium Capital Management in New York with revenue of $844 million.
