Are we too dependent on Google? An apparent meltdown of Google's special applications such as Google Maps, Google Search and Gmail sent the country into a tizzy early Thursday morning.
The Internet was abuzz with queries about the Google troubles and many turned to Twitter to seek answers.
In response to a question from ComputerWorld, a Google spokesman said "We're aware some users are having trouble accessing some Google services. We're looking into it, and we'll update everyone soon."
By about 10 a.m. PST, the site slowly began to return. But the latest Googlefail is a reminder that not even the mastodon of Internet search is impervious to vulnerability.
Gmail tanked for several hours earlier this year, forcing people to, well, actually do some work, while at work.
