The smallest baby born in the history of a Miami children's hospital is going home today.
Born three months early on March 5 at 1 pound, 1 ounce at Holtz Children's Hospital, Gabriella Mercedes Gil was less than a foot long. Doctors gave her a 15 percent chance of survival.
Gabriella had open-heart surgery when she was two weeks old, and survived a bout of lung disease, according to CBS4 in Miami.
Today, she weighs 12 pounds, and is going to the home of her parents, Maruja and Miguel Gil of Miami.
