The Internet is abuzz -- well, the Twitterati are in any case -- with the news that Miley Cyrus, of Hannah Montana fame, has evidently deleted her Twitter account!
The pop star's verified Twitter account, http://twitter.com/MileyCyrus, is now coming up with a "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!" note from Twitter. According to Hispanic celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, Cyrus had threatened to abandon her microblogging outlet. Hilton tweeted, "She did it! As she threatened to do last night, it seems like @MileyCyrus has deleted her Twitter account!"
If so, she walked away from an influential communication tool with her fans. Cyrus' cached Twitter page shows that she had more than 2 million followers watching her every micro-message. Fans across the Internet are bemoaning her apparent decision, tweeting a message of "#MileyComeBack" in protest -- a message that is tops in the trending topics as of publication time.
Cyrus' 'Party in the USA' single (video below) recently reached #1 status on iTunes; the YouTube posting of which is closing in on 6 million views.
