Don Imus, the radio shock jock who was fired from MSNBC in 2007 for making what some believed to be racially insensitive comments about an NCAA women's basketball team, debuted with a new show today on Fox Business Channel, in which he interviewed fellow Fox News talk star Glenn Beck.
At one point, Imus, who is known for challenging his guests on air, asked Beck if he believes Rush Limbaugh hates him, given how Beck is giving the talk show titan a run for his money.
Beck didn't take the bait.
"Do you hate me?" he asked Imus.
"No, but I'm not competing with you," Imus replied.
"What you mean?" Beck said. "You're on the radio, I'm on the radio."
Imus also asked Beck -- who says he stopped drinking and joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1994 -- what he had for his last drink. Beck said it was Jack Daniels.
Imus, too, battled alcoholism and drug addiction, and says he's been sober since 1988.
Today's show also included a segment that touched on race. Imus interviewed Debra Dickerson, an African American author who wrote a book saying Barack Obama isn't really black.
