The Glam is back and it goes by the name of Adam Lambert
Lambert, American Idol's breakout star, has released a fiercely retro, gender-ambiguous cover of his highly anticipated debut album, "For Your Entertainment," and it's causing quite the drama on the Web.
Looking like it was ripped straight out of the 1970s disco era, Lambert has blue hair, heavy black eyeliner, with a tinge of fluorescent green. Lambert's hand, inside a black glove, is pressed to his perfectly airbrushed face, as he stares directly at you. All of this appears amid a seemingly inter-galactic backdrop, with stars and dark night sky.
Lambert posts on his Twitter that the album is an homage to the past.
"Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It's an (h)omage to the past. It IS ridiculous," Lambert said.
Even though he placed second on this season's American Idol, Lambert has become the Fox show's biggest star, largely because of his incredible performances, where he combines, rock, soul and disco, all with masterful stage presence
