NEW YORK, July 31 /PRNewswire-PRNEWSWIRE/ -- HITN (Hispanic Information Telecommunications Television Network) announced today that it will provide on-line access to its gavel-to-gavel video coverage of the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) historic en banc hearings held in New York City on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 and Wednesday, July 30, 2008. At Tuesday's hearing, the FCC heard testimony from media and financial experts about the challenges and opportunities facing women and minorities in gaining access to capital necessary to diversify media ownership, content and employment.

The proceeding included statements and questions from all five FCC Commissioners and two diverse panels were moderated by CNBC Financial News Correspondent Erin Burnett.

On Wednesday, the FCC convened at the Brooklyn Borough Hall for a hearing on ways to improve communications between emergency responders through interoperable communications. Many emergency responders across the United States have radio systems which do not permit communications among and between responders from different agencies or jurisdictions. The full Commission heard testimony from two panels of emergency responders and telecommunications experts on the state of public safety communications. Commissioners made statements and asked questions on interoperability and the potential use of spectrum for shared commercial and public safety purposes.
