Frankie J, Luis Fonsi, Nina Sky, Orishas, Jeannie Ortega Headline Tour
Oak Brook, IL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--July 13, 2006--Five of Latin music’s top names will be touring together as part of McDonald’s(R) 12-market LoMcXimo de la Música concert series. This year’s star-packed bill features Frankie J, Luis Fonsi, Nina Sky, Orishas and Jeannie Ortega appearing in each market. The artists join McDonald’s in support of Hispanic higher education through the RMHC/HACER Scholarship Fund.
In keeping with its long record of support to Hispanic higher education, McDonald’s will contribute $3 from each ticket sale from LoMcXimo de la Música to the Ronald McDonald House Charities(R)/Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources (RMHC/HACER) Scholarship Program, the largest high school-to-college Hispanic scholarship program in the nation.
The concert tour kicks off August 30, 2006 in Phoenix, Ariz. and makes its last stop in Washington, D.C., on September 24, 2006.
“We are extremely pleased to present these five outstanding acts that join us in supporting the cause of higher education for Hispanic students,” said Rick Marroquin, Director of Marketing, McDonald’s USA. “Through LoMcXimo de la Música, McDonald’s is happy to present our customers one of the best concert tours of the summer while continuing our commitment to helping Hispanic students reach their goals of higher education.”
The RMHC/HACER Scholarship Program is a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities and its U.S. Local Chapters. Since the program began in 1985, more than 12,000 Hispanic students have received nearly $14 million in scholarships to support their education.
In the 2005-2006 academic year alone, RMHC and its local Chapters have awarded more than $1.6 million to support the education aspirations of students in more than 40 markets in the United States. Today, RMHC/HACER is one of the largest educational scholarship programs in the country that assists Hispanic students with the transition from high school to 4-year universities.
