Events Concepts, Inc., a national promotions company that recognizes the growing influence of Spanish-language TV, radio, newspapers, the Internet, and the extraordinary efforts of professionals who contribute their journalistic excellence to keep the U.S. Hispanic community informed, is producing the Hispanic Media Awards. Calls for nominations for this awards program were issued in July. The recipients of this year’s Awards program were judged by an independent group of journalism and industry professionals.
Additional sponsors are being secured for the event in conjunction with existing sponsors Continental Airlines, Hispanic PR Wire, White Hat Management, The Cartel Group, MasterCard International, the U.S. Army and Hyundai Motor America. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner and related publication will go towards scholarship funds to students seeking careers in Spanish-language journalism, as well as to “Little Voice,” a non-profit organization that produces films and programs focusing on Hispanic issues. Each Little Voice project includes education and outreach initiatives to support long-term change. Their latest film, "Sweet Ambition," recently aired on PBS and benefits Hispanic college bound students. The web site address for the Hispanic Media awards is http://www.hispanicmedia100.org
