The McCombs School of Business offers a welcoming environment for people from all backgrounds. The McCombs MBA program encourages student organizations such as the Hispanic Graduate Business Association and the Consortium Fellows Business Association to flourish. In addition to being one of the 13 schools in the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management, the school annually sponsors and participates in the conference for the National Society for Hispanic MBAs. Hispanic students make up 10 to 15 percent of each incoming MBA class, and McCombs provides these students with an extensive support network to address both academic and professional needs. Through the Plus Program, every McCombs MBA will be afforded the opportunity to explore corporate and cultural differences through school-sponsored study tours in Latin America, Asia, and Europe. The Joint Degree Program in Latin American Studies addresses the increased need in both public and private sectors for business specialists with a thorough understanding of Latin American politics and cultures. The school has partnered with more than 20 schools throughout the world to offer exchange and double degree programs. Students interested in developing stronger language skills may pursue the Spanish-language track. Employers view the University of Texas at Austin as a great resource for Hispanic professionals.

The Yale School of Management (SOM) recruits Hispanic MBA students through the MBA Diversity Alliance with other top business schools, through MBA Minority Workshops, and in partnership with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Special scholarships have been designated for historically underrepresented students, including the Megunticook Scholars Program, made possible through a generous gift of alumnus Thomas Matlack, SOM '91. On-campus support organizations include the Hispanic MBA Advisory Council, the Latin America Student Interest Group, and La Casa Cultural at Yale. Yale SOM is also an active participant in Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), a program that provides support and information to prospective minority MBA candidates as they prepare for the graduate management education application process. In 2002, Yale SOM and MLT presented the first-ever Pre-MBA Prep Program for minority candidates interested in pursuing an MBA. The program encompassed elements of a successful MBA application, from essay review to mock interviews to financing an MBA. "I strongly encourage those interested in pursuing an MBA to consider the Yale School of Management," says Nicole McKinney, associate director of minority and student affairs at the Yale School of Management. "If you have specific inquiries, please contact me at (203) 432-5932 or mba.diversity@yale.edu."
