MIAMI, FL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--December 18, 2003-- An intense love story with an all-star cast, “Amar Otra Vez” (To Love Again”) premieres on Univision Network on Monday, December 22 at 7:00 pm ET.
Targeted to a younger audience, this new novela stars one of Mexico’s most popular singer/actresses Irán Castillo (“Preciosa”, “Clase 406”), along with heartthrobs Rafael Amaya (“Salome”) and Valentino Lanús (“El Juego de la Vida”). The production also marks the much anticipated return of “Mexico’s Sweetheart” Angélica María, one of Hispanic television’s most popular novela actresses.
“Amar Otra Vez” centers on the life of Rocío (Iran Castillo), a humble seamstress and budding fashion designer who lives in a small Mexican town. When the love of her life Fernando (Rafael Amaya) finally proposes, her happiness seems assured. Breathless with anticipation, she sets about designing a beautiful white gown for the occasion. But as her wedding day arrives, Rocío and Fernando’s mother, Balbina (Angélica María) receive devastating news: Fernando has met an untimely death in Mexico City. As Rocío’s dream turns into a nightmare, both women rush to the capital to investigate his death. Once there, they begin to untangle an unfathomable web of deceit and betrayal: Fernando is not only alive, but his unbridled ambition led him to carry out an unthinkably heartless ruse: he fabricated his own death in order to marry Brenda (Margarita Magaña), his wealthy boss’s daughter.
Emotionally destroyed by Fernando’s cruel betrayal, Rocío decides to stay in Mexico City and start a new life. Happiness seems once again within her grasp when she meets Daniel, a handsome radio DJ. As their friendship eventually blossoms into a passionate love affair, Daniel’s ex-girlfriend Veronica (Vanessa Guzmán), determines to get him back…at any cost. When she falsely claims the child she is carrying belongs to him, Rocío is left brokenhearted once again.
Drained and despondent, Rocío decides to pour what’s left of her emotions into furthering the only other love she’s ever known…fashion. She builds a successful career—but ultimately feels unfulfilled as true happiness continues to elude her. Will Rocío ever realize her dream of walking down the aisle in her beautiful wedding gown? Only time will tell if she will, indeed, love again.
“Amar Otra Vez” will air Monday-Friday, 7-8 pm ET/PT (6-7 pm Central/Mountain) only on Univision, Hispanic America’s favorite TV network.
