Polanco Fellows: A Capital Program that Changes Lives
Named after former state Senator Richard Polanco, a founder and chairman of the California Latino Caucus Institute, the Polanco fellowship program takes young, committed Hispanics who have overcome hardship and provides them with year-long, on-the-job Capitol training. Major Auto Makers Take Aim at Toyota in Battle for Green Market Shares
While Toyota currently dominates the hybrid automobile market, having manufactured 82 percent of the hybrids sold in April, at least three major automakers are entering the competition in a big way. Financial Firm Comerica Scores Third Spot on Diversity Elite
Three years ago Comerica Inc., a financial services and banking group now headquartered in Dallas, established three regional Hispanic market segmentation teams in California, Texas, and Michigan. Each team included Hispanic and non-Hispanic members from different departments and divisions. The move, which has helped the company make great inroads into the burgeoning Hispanic market, was just one of many that helped Comerica jump from sixth place in last year's Hispanic Business Diversity Elite to the third spot in the 2008 listings. ...continue
