Mr. Salazar took office in January 2005 after six years as Colorado Attorney General. He serves on the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Energy and Natural Resources, and Veterans Affairs committees. As attorney general, Mr. Salazar established a special fugitive unit to track down runaway murderers, and a gang prosecution unit for community crime. He also strengthened Colorado's consumer protection laws, including nationally recognized sweepstakes laws and a no-call telemarketing law.
