Alex Padilla
| President Los Angeles City Council In 2003, Mr. Padilla won a veto-proof majority measure opposing a budget plan that would have jeopardized the city's finances. State seizures of local funds in 2004 validated the council's fiscal responsibility. Mr. Padilla led a successful state ballot proposition to prohibit future state raids of local funds. He sits on the boards of the National League of Cities and the California Film Commission. He is also chair of the City Council's Rules and Elections Committee and a member of the Housing, Community, and Economic Development Committee. |
