| Correspondent ABC News Mr. Avila joined 20/20 in 2004, bringing his personal style of investigative journalism. He came to 20/20 from NBC News, where he had served as national correspondent since January 2000, covering the September 11 terrorist attacks and Washington, D.C., sniper shootings. Beginning in 1997, he averaged 130 reports a year on NBC's Nightly News, the highest number for any minority in broadcast history, according to Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Tempe, Arizona. |
