Mr. Sandoval won the election for attorney general in 2002. Previously, he served as a legislator and chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission. As the state’s chief law enforcement officer, he leads a staff of 365, including 155 lawyers, and manages a budget of $42 million. His office prosecutes consumer, insurance, and worker’s compensation fraud, provides legal counsel to state agencies, and represents the state in court.
