State of New Mexico

Since Mr. Richardson was sworn in as governor in January, he has succeeded in putting much of his agenda into law, including education reform, tax cuts, and lowering prescription drug costs for the elderly. He will serve as chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. Mr. Richardson’s career includes 15 years in Congress as well as stints as ambassador to the United Nations, U.S. Secretary of Energy, and a professor at Harvard.
