Miguel A. Nevarez
| President University of Texas–Pan American Serving as president of Pan American University since 1981, Mr. Nevarez is one of the longest-tenured Hispanic university presidents in the country. He guided Pan American University through its merger with the University of Texas system in 1989, and has added 18 new bachelor’s degree programs, 24 new master’s programs, and three doctoral programs. Mr. Nevarez also serves as vice-chair of the Council of Public University Presidents and Chancellors. |
