Named general manager of the Expos this year, Mr. Minaya is the first Hispanic general manager in Major League Baseball. He began his 18 years in baseball with the Texas Rangers in 1985 as a coach in the Gulf Coast league, before becoming the Rangers’ director of personnel and international scouting in 1995.
