Times Editor Gail Collins appointed Ms. Curiel to the prestigious editorial board in August. Previously, Ms. Curiel was a senior fellow at the Pew Hispanic Center and a producer-writer for the ABC News program Nightline. From 1997 to 2001 she served as the U.S. ambassador to Belize and as a speechwriter at the White House during the Clinton administration.
