Mr. Romero serves as the sixth executive director in the ACLUís 81-year history. Previously, he worked at the Ford Foundation as director of human rights and international cooperation, the foundationís largest program, with $90 million in grants last year. He joined Ford in 1992 as a program officer for civil rights and racial justice. Before joining the Ford Foundation, Mr. Romero worked at the Rockefeller Foundation.
