Selective Service System
After being nominated to the top Selective Service post by President George W. Bush, Mr. Rascon was confirmed by the Senate in May. As director, he oversees a $24.5 million budget. The agency ensures that every U.S. male between 18 and 25 is registered for the draft. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Rasconís 38-year federal career concluded with a five-year stint as inspector general of the Selective Service System.
