Shortstop Seattle Mariners, Major League Baseball Seattle, WA Mr. Rodriguez holds the American League record for most single-season home runs by a shortstop for 1998 and 1999, with 42. He also is one of three Major League players to hit 40 homers and steal 40 bases. Fans voted for him to play in the 2000 All-Star Game. Mr. Rodriguez also contributes to his community through his educational program, Grand Slam for Kids. He visits schools encouraging children to work hard in class, be physically fit, and be a good citizen |
