Vice-President San Diego Padres San Diego, CA The highest-ranking Hispanic in Major League Baseball, Mr. Morones has increased annual attendance of Hispanic fans at Padres games from 50,000 to 600,000. He established a bi-national interest in Padres baseball by coordinating the first regular-season game ever held outside the United States. The game took place in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1996. ESPN and ABC News have recognized his team as the most outstanding Hispanic marketing organization in major league sports. Mr. Morones is president of the San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. |
