Congresswoman, 46th District Garden Grove, CA One of the Democratic Party's top fund-raisers, she was elected this year as co-chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. In her new position, she will work to head off Republican attempts to court Hispanic voters. On the local level, Ms. Sanchez flies from Washington, D.C., to her Orange County district every weekend, all the while maintaining a 97 percent voting record. In last November's election, she won decisively over nemesis and former Congressman Robert Dornan.
