LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- LAMHCC partners with Open English, the pioneer in personalized English-learning solutions, to make English accessible to the US Hispanic community in Los Angeles. Together they will initiate their strategic relationship at the annual Ecuadorian cultural festival with a parade of thousands.

On August 10, 2008, nearly 200,000 Ecuadorians living in Southern California will commemorate Ecuador's Independence Day with local music, food, and cultural booths, culminating with the yearly Ecuadorian Parade through downtown Los Angeles. Open English and the LAMHCC have chosen this occasion to initiate their strategic partnership and will be distributing free access passes to Open English's online English learning platform to attendees.

"The LAMHCC exists to create opportunity," said Maria Luisa Vela, Vice President of the LAMHCC. "By partnering with Open English, we can empower our community with a more effective solution for learning English. Our goal is to facilitate economic opportunity and entrepreneurship in Los Angeles by helping to bridge the language barrier."

Using a personalized learning approach that has been perfected over many years, and thousands of hours of live, one-on-one coaching, Open English offers a revolutionary method for non-native speakers to learn English. Thanks to their partnership with the LAMHCC, this solution will now be available to the almost five million Hispanics living in Los Angeles.

"While we strive to empower the growing number of individuals needing English skills to communicate, we don't believe learning a second language dilutes a person's cultural heritage. This is what this Independence Day is all about," commented Andres Moreno, Open English CEO and a native of Venezuela who learned English himself through a government-sponsored English as a Second Language program.

Open English is an early-stage company that creates personalized English-learning programs for learners in over 120 countries. Through their Web site at http://www.openenglish.com, students advance their English with original TV productions, podcasts, magazines, videos, interactive software, and live classes with native speakers.
