Susan Boyle Shines Bright on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Last night on ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars,' furious feet and the ouster of Aaron Carter were the side stories. On center stage? Susan Boyle, the British sensation who rose to fame with her improbable performance on "Britain's Got Talent."

Boyle, or "SuBo," as she's known to some fans, reprised her most famous performance, singing "I Dreamed A Dream" from "Les Miserables." While no longer a surprise hit, as it was when she premiered on British television, her performance encouraged raucous applause throughout the performance and at its end (see below for the video).

It was also announced today that Boyle is in contention with Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and Demi Lovato for a People's Choice Award in the category of Favorite Breakthrough Music Artist.

The reason you think her audition rendition was better is because everyone was so shocked by her voice. This performance was far superior. As for the dancing during the song, the show IS called "Dancing with the Stars" you know. There is dancing during every song. Deal with it.

I agree! I have heard several renditions of "I Dreamed a Dream" that Susan has sung, and NONE have been as great and showstopping as her audition version. Why hasn't she sung it the first way we heard it and fell in love with her?????

I did not like to see such a lovely voice accompanied with another activity (THE DANCE). Such a voice in this clip is not as pure and free as before (back in April). It was natural in April 2009. Now it has been changed to become (to my opinion) materialized. I prefer the Susan Boyle of April 2009. She was singing for me, and perhaps for millions and millions around the world. I didn't feel embarresed crying in front of my kids when I listened to her voice in Apirl 2009. She moved all my feelings and emotions. Now this clip to me is like listening to any pop singer. It is a Show but to me no more valuable emotions reacting with the voice. Thanks
