LG BRINGS FREEVIEWPLUS TO ITS SMART TV LINEUP

September 5, 2014

ENP Newswire - 05 September 2014

Release date- 02092014 - Sydney - In cool news sure to get all armchair generals and free-to-air TV fans totally stoked, LG Electronics Australia (LG) has just announced the availability of FreeviewPlus on a wide range of its 2014 LG Smart TVs, beginning with some of the company's webOS-enabled range of LG Smart TVs.

Coming just in time for Father's Day, we don't mind if you take the credit and pretend it's a present for Dad (we won't say anything).

In one of the most important advances in free-to-air television in Australia, FreeviewPlus launches in Australia on 2 September and offers all available Catch Up TV from the Freeview networks on TV.

Is it hard to get? When does it happen, and will it be difficult to enable FreeviewPlus on my LG Smart TV?

Relax. The answer to these quite understandable questions (in order) is, 'It's super-easy' and 'In early September*, LG will make the new service available on some of its 2014 webOS Smart TV models** via a software update shortly after the service launches.' Once you're all updated and undergo a factory default reset, it is ready to go. FreeviewPlus can be accessed by pushing a green button on LG's Magic Remote and BOOM! - a veritable trove of quality free-to-air content will be available at your TV-hungry fingertips.

What LG has to say about FreeviewPlus

'We're all about giving LG users greater choice and flexibility.' said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Australia.

With FreeviewPlus, that means accessing a huge range of free-to-air content they want from their Smart TV. Better still, they can still commit to their everyday obligations like mowing the lawn or throwing a ball with the kids, but not ever miss out on shows they love.

'LG Smart TVs offer a great range of choices for consumers,' continued Skropidis, 'and the addition of FreeviewPlus is further proof of our desire to continue delivering on that reputation.'

Which LG Smart TV models will support FreeviewPlus?

FreeviewPlus will be available on all 2014 Full HD, webOS-enabled LG Smart TVs from the beginning of September. Thereafter, all 2014 webOS-enabled ULTRA HD LG Smart TVs will support the service from mid-September followed by all the other 2014 LG Smart TVs by the end of September.
