Sept. 04--Blues-rock guitar standout Kenny Wayne Shepherd will entertain Friday at the Carnegie Library Music Hall of Homestead.

Shepherd considers his May album, "Goin' Home," his most personal to date, having recorded it in just 11 days in his hometown of Shreveport, La., revisiting a dozen of the vintage blues classics that originally inspired him to pick up the guitar.

Tickets for his 8 p.m. show cost $35 to $70.

The Jeff Fetterman Band of Bradford, Pa. will open.

You can't travel back in time, Rascal Flatts reminds us on "Rewind," the hit title track of the country-pop trio's latest album.

Keep that in mind, if you're a fan who migh regret skipping Rascal Flatts' season-ending First Niagara Pavilion show on Saturday.

Making the night even more tempting is support act Sheryl Crow, who's been singing her big hits on this tour. All she wants to do is have some fun.

Gloriana of "(Kissed You) Good Night" fame will start the show, hoping its contributions will help the concert live up to the name of the country band's current single, "Best Night Ever."

Tickets are $43 to $91.

Twenty One Pilots has sold out Saturday's show at Stage AE.

The Columbus, Ohio, alt-rock duo, which takes its name from an Arthur Miller play, reveals on its website that band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun constantly ask themselves why they're making music.

"The answer can change all the time, but for right now we are just going to stick with something as simple as 'we want to make people think,'" Twenty One Pilots says.

There's plenty to ponder about "Car Radio," the band's latest single set to a hip-hop cadence with sparse electronica, and metaphorical lyrics about a man sitting in silence facing his thoughts.

Warmup acts Saturday are MisterWives and Vinyl Theater.
