Sept. 04--SEBRING -- Ticket sales are going well for the 2nd Round of Beer Festival, a Children's Museum of the Highlands fundraiser, which returns for its second year Saturday with more offerings of craft beer and food booths, organizers said.

The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the downtown Circle. About 35 different beers from a variety of brewers will be available, and six local restaurants will offer samplings of food.

Advance tickets cost $25 and include samplings of beer and food. For designated drivers, tickets are $15 and include food samples and soft drinks.

Ticket prices go up to $30 at the door, and advance tickets will be available until Friday.

The craft beer festival also will be the first biggest museum fundraiser for its new executive director, Cheryl Matthews, and the last day for its longtime head and founder Linda Crowder.

Matthews, who took over the helm in June, said she is excited about her first big gig for the children's museum.

"I'm excited for the event, just the impact the funds will have on the program," she said.

Last year's festival had overwhelming response from participants and this year the museum decided to plan it for a larger group of 500 people.

This year's event also will feature more beer from a larger variety of craft brewers. People can also pre-order and buy commemorative T-shirts for $15.

Long Shot will provide entertainment.

Crowder said in a previous Highlands Today story that proceeds from the event will benefit the museum to help with operating costs. She said they hope to raise $10,000 this year.

Tickets can be purchased at the museum, 219 N Ridgewood Drive, Sebring, or by going online to the museum's Facebook page or
