Co-director of hit animated film 'Frozen' to speak in October in Fort Wayne

Sept. 04--Chris Buck, the co-director with Jennifer Lee of the hit animated film "Frozen," will present a free screening of the movie and speak during appearances Oct. 4 and 5 at the University of Saint Francis' Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St.

The "A Weekend with Chris Buck" activities were organized through a joint effort by USF and local film organization Fort Wayne Cinema Center, a university news release said.

The weekend will begin with Buck attending a brunch for Cinema Center members only at 10 a.m.Oct. 4 at The Philmore on Broadway. He will present the free public film screening at 7 p.m. that evening at the Performing Arts Center. It will be followed by a singalong and a lecture about film.

On Oct. 5, Buck will discuss his career, evolution in the creative industry and advice for young people seeking a career in that field during a USF Closer Look lecture series presentation at 1 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Buck directed previous hit animated films "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?," "Fox and the Hound," "Tarzan" and "Surf's Up." He attended the California Institute of the Arts, where an animated film project he completed his final year earned him a job at Disney Animation, the news release said.
