BRIEF: 'Fowl Play' in play this month at In-Town - Sept. 6-30

September 4, 2014

Chattanooga Times Free Press, Tenn.

Sept. 04--Artist Linda Thomas is highlighted in the September exhibit at In-Town Gallery, 26 Frazier Ave.

"Fowl Play" is a whimsical collection of her paintings and etchings, representing birds in various situations and settings, such as ravens lighting on a resting sheep in the acrylic painting "Fleece Harassment."

Thomas says birds are a favorite subject because they reflect so many human characteristics. "They are graceful, awkward, curious, quirky, elegant and raucous," she says.

Visitors can meet the artist at the opening reception, set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday (until 8 p.m. on first Fridays), 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
