#BoosieIsBack! Louisiana rapper set to perform at Coliseum

Sept. 04--BILOXI -- Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie looks like he'll get the audience many Coast fans believed he deserved all along.

Mississippi Coast Coliseum Assistant Executive Director Matt McDonnell said Thursday that Lil Boosie will be one of the performers at the Second Annual Black Friday Concert, which is set for Black Friday on Nov. 28.

Last year's concert featured four rap acts and drew nearly 7,000 fans, he said.

This year's show will feature headliner Future as well as Kevin Gates. McDonnell said they're still actively working to add several other acts to the lineup.

"These are all headline acts," he said. "For one ticket price you're going to get to see three major acts which is pretty good value these days when it comes to going to see concerts."

Lil Boosie made headlines this spring as promoters tried to get him cleared to play in Pascagoula, at possible pop-up shows and even on a North Gulfport ball field.

After months of will-he, won't-he, the rapper performed at Club Envy in May, which has a maximum occupancy of 700.

"It certainly gives him more name recognition. In terms of it being designated for the arena, I don't think there's going to be as much uncertainty of whether he is going to play, where is he going to play and where do you get your tickets," McDonnell said. "I think it will be more clear and well defined."

Tickets go on sale Sept. 5 and range from $30 to $105.
