Tokyo stocks open slightly lower

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Thursday as investors moved to lock in recent gains.

In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 13.31 points, or 0.08 percent, from Wednesday to 15,715.04. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.88 point, or 0.07 percent, to 1,300.64.

Major gainers included warehousing, steel as well as oil and coal product shares.
