Russia's Andrei Kolkoutine to exhibit his paintings in Bishkek

The Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts will open an exhibition on September 4 by Russian artist Andrei Kolkoutine, museum's director Yuristanbek Shygayev told a press conference in Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan'sMuseum of Fine Arts together with the Ministry of Culture are implementing a cultural project Museum+1, within which some famous artist is invited to visit the country once a year.

"This year, we were able to invite Kolkoutine whose works are known all over the world," Shygayev noticed.

The exhibition will feature 41 paintings.

In addition, the Russian artist plans to present one of his works to the Kyrgyz museum.

Andrei Kolkoutine graduated the Repin Academy of Arts in Leningrad in 1982. He belongs to the art group named Foster Brothers together with other artists, Andrey Efi and Eugeny Lindin. Kolkoutine's motifs are often either stylized biblical or simple working people from the Russian province.
