Presentation of the organization, experience, etc. Created in 1991 and declared as the receipt No. 202 / MIS / ATAP / AGP / 5, the NGO Ivory Coast Ecology~s mission is to participate in sustainable environmental protection in CÔte d~Ivoire. problematic Regions Toumodi Yamoussoukro and Dimbokro like most parts of CÔte d~Ivoire experiencing serious problems related to the degradation of the rural environment. The practice of shifting cultivation and extensive and excessive cutting of firewood are causing the decline in forest cover and soil depletion. II. Project outline The project involves the implementation of agroforestry plantations (Toumodi region) where we use the fast-growing species, wild fruit trees and energy purposes. III. Project location: village, city, region: Toumodi in central CÔte d~Ivoire IV. Target (population, number of women, men, number of households, etc.): 30, including 20 men 10 women V. General Purpose Contribute to the fight against desertification in the "V" Baule. VI. specific Objective Restore 15 acres of fallow land through agroforestry in twelve (12) months. VII. expected Results - The communities are sensitized on the need to protect, conserve the environment .; - Increasing the production of food crops through agro forestry technical association of legumes and food crops; - 15 hectares of plantation being made in this area; - Biodiversity and microclimate are restored; VIII. Activities to be undertaken - Awareness; - The achievement of agroforestry plantations under two important activities: - Establishment of village nurseries for seedling production - Establishment stands agroforestiÈrers; - Monitoring and supervision of the project and preparation of progress reports. IX. community involvement and strategy implementation The involvement of local people directly as partners and beneficiaries of the project; Execution of certain activities by the beneficiaries: Clearing and nursery development, picketing and hole digging, planting, orchard maintenance. X. gender approach of the project and participation of women: 20 men and 10 women involved in the project. XI. Benefit to the local sustainable development Restore 15 acres of fallow; improve yields; improvement of living conditions of beneficiaries through increasing their income. XII.
