PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 2 -- The Risk Management Association issued the following news release:
Nancy J. Foster, executive vice president and chief risk officer, Park Sterling Corporation, Charlotte, N.C., was elected chair of The Risk Management Association (RMA). J. Tol Broome Jr., director of regional corporate banking and executive vice president, BB&T Bank, Winston-Salem, N.C., was elected vice chair. Their one-year terms began September 1, 2014.
Nancy J. Foster is a member of RMA's Executive Committee, Enterprise Risk Management Council, and Community Bank Council, and is a past member of the Credit Risk Council.
Foster was previously chief risk officer of CIT Group Inc., where she was responsible for global enterprise-wide risk management. Prior to joining CIT, Foster was group senior vice president at LaSalle Bank Corporation.
Foster has a BS in finance and economics from Illinois State University and an MBA in finance and strategy from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
J. Tol Broome Jr. is a member of RMA's Credit Risk Council and past chair of the Chapters and Membership Council.
Broome has been in commercial banking for over 30 years, including 20 with BB&T. Prior to his current role, Broome served as chief commercial credit officer.
Broome graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1983 with a BS in business administration.

David Oman, global wealth and investment management risk management executive, Bank of America, New York, N.Y.
Paul W. Parker, vice chairman and chief risk officer, U.S. Bancorp, Minneapolis, Minn.
Surjit Rajpal, chief risk officer, BMO Financial Group, Toronto, Ont.
In addition, Edward P. Schreiber, chief risk officer and executive vice president, Zions Bancorporation, Salt Lake City, Utah was newly named to chair RMA's Enterprise Risk Management Council.
