Ruidoso News, N.M.

Sept. 02--Bringing Mariachi to Ruidoso for an afternoon, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is hosting Mariachi San Pablo.

The indoor concert is a free-admission event and will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 6, at the Community Youth Center, 200 Church Drive, behind Wells Fargo Bank.

Donations will be accepted at the concert to support the work of the Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care.

Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care is an international service organization that addresses physical and spiritual need on the U.S./ Mexico border. It provides aid to the poor such as food, clothes, school supplies, health kits, vitamins and more. The mission oversees groups who build houses, construct and maintain churches, provide medical care and lead children and family activities across the border. The mission's focus is to bring purpose, hope, and opportunity to children, youth, and adults in the El Paso border region whose lives are changed through participation in the ministry.

Year-round ministry is supported in 12 different communities on the border in areas as diverse as inner city slums to mountain Indian villages. Find out more about Ysleta Lutheran Mission at www.ylm.org

Mariachi San Pablo, of the Adelante Music Ministry at Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso is coming for its fourth Ruidoso concert. They work in conjunction with Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care and several organizations with their primary objective being to help and educate those who are in need throughout the El Paso border region and in parts of Mexico.

Mariachi San Pablo began in 2011 with only five members, four of whom were beginner musicians. The group began as a way to reach the at-risk youth in the El Paso community. As the group grew and began to learn more and more music, different congregations began to request the presence of the youngsters for worship; thus beginning our touring venture. Now they travel across the states and internationally.

"If you would like to enjoy a unique mariachi experience and greet your Spanish-speaking neighbors in the language of their hearts, join us in welcoming Mariachi San Pablo to Ruidoso," said Beverly Bishoff, Shepherd of the Hills evangelism committee head. "The concert can be enjoyed by the whole family."
