BRIEF: Teen accused of stealing neighbor's credit card

Sept. 03--A 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly broke into his neighbor's home and stole a credit card, Colorado Springs police said.

Anthony McCowan was arrested on suspicion of crimes against an at-risk adult, theft, second-degree burglary, identity theft and criminal mischief, police said.

According to police, at about 1:30 a.m., a man at the Verde Meadows apartments at 1400 block of South Chelton Road reported a burglary.

When the victim called to cancel a credit card that was stolen, he learned that someone had tried to use it at a nearby 7-Eleven store, police said.

Police identified the suspect after going to the store to get a description from the suspect.

McCowan was arrested and booked into El Paso County jail.
