United States : BROADCOM introduces WICED SENSE TAG into Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices family

A worldwide innovation leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, Broadcom has added a new development kit, called WICED Sense Tag, to its Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED ) family to allow developers to quickly prototype ideas and concepts for IoT devices and applications.

Broadcam has priced the WICED Sense Kit, Ariced at $19.99 and made it available through the company's network of distribution partners.

Developers will be able to download the WICED Sense application at the App Store.

Broadcom described the WICED Sense development kit as an all-in-one IoT prototyping kit that includes the company's latest Bluetooth Smart chip, five micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and has a software stack that is Bluetooth 4.1 compatible.

Broadcom Senior Director, Embedde, Brian Bedrosian, said : "With hundreds of new ideas for applications and devices for the Internet of Things being hatched daily, it is critical that developers can quickly test their concepts and bring them to market ahead of the competition. Broadcom's WICED Sense development kit provides an easy-to-use, low-cost and complete testing package for OEMs and start-ups alike to continue pushing the limits on technology innovation."
